Improved elite bluegrass blend. Dense, elegant appearance. Medium-fine texture. Requires knowledgeable care to maintain refined appearance. Does best in moderate coastal areas; avoid using in inland valleys and warm, arid regions. Requires well-drained soil; does not tolerate salinity. Green year-round. Often used for indoor pet “potties”

Winter Dormant varieties
Very coarse thick-stemmed runners. Used primarily where shade tolerance is the top priority. Native to the southern United States where humid conditions do not permit cool-season lawn varieties to flourish. Considerable thatching; requires concrete borders for containment. Dormant in winter.
Hybrid Bermuda. Excellent as athletic field or recreational turf. Often used on golf course putting greens. Very dense, low-growing, fine textured. Creates an attractive “manicured” look with consistent care and trimming. Develops thatch; requires concrete borders for containment. Becomes dormant in winter.
Southland SOD is the exclusive California grower of Zeon zoysia. Zoysias are warm- season grasses and as such use a minimum 25% less water than cool-season turf.Zeon has the added benefit of sustaining itself in up to 75% shade. It has beautiful dark green color and medium fine texture similar to bluegrass. It can be mowed higher than its hybrid bermuda cousin without building up thatch. Yet, it has high turf and rhizome density giving it great wear resistance and recovery.
Zeon was chosen for the 2016 Olympic golf course in Rio De Janeiro and numerous other prestigious golf courses throughout Texas and the southeast. It offers an ideal combination of beauty, durability and low water and fertilizer use. Zeon is gaining popularity in residential landscapes as its desirable characteristics and availability become more well known.Be among the first in California to plant this beautiful and sustainable new lawn variety!
